My first full restoration. Was covered in about 400 coats of nasty lead paint. It was found in Arlington Texas ( near Fort Worth). I am guessing it is circa 1888 maybe, just a guess. How did I do? Any ways to improve?
Wow! Looks like you're ready to go on an extended vacation. Very nice!
It appears that only the top and front are metal. Is this so? and I wonder if this is true for all of the trunks of this style and era I have seen on this site. I have never seen one up close.
Some of them have the embossed on the sides as well, just depended on what that maker wanted to do.
Wonderful work on the embossed tin -- looks great!
Exactly how did you accomplish that effect on the tin? It looks brand new.
Thank you Phil!
Gorgeous. You did a wonderful job. When I was researching my trunk I found this information... http://www.legacytrunks.com/trunk_history_information.htm the 6th trunk down *Saratoga* looks like your trunk.
Thank you Aimathena. That trunk on legacy is a higher end trunk than mine.
You're very welcome. I think your trunk is just as beautiful.
Trunker, your work is impeccable!!! Just beautiful.
