This is an interesting table top spinning wheel I guess. It has a swift/winder that moves in and out. The big X comes off the arm and has holes to make small and large skeins.
The machine is about 13" tall from the base to the top of the wheel and the wheel is 9 1/2" in diameter. It has a knob to turn the wheel - and in the last picture, the piece on the right has a finger hole in it...so you can put your finger inside the wooden piece.
It was run by a shoestring - sadly it is broken but I think I could find another!
I would love to find out any information available about this cool item. It is dark wood and is actually in better shape than it looks like. The flash on the camera really grabbed the dust on the surface.
Would love to know if it is complete, how it may have worked and an approximate date it may have been made or used. I have searched and could only find one other one this size but it was much fancier.
Thanks for any info you can offer!

It is fascinating....I spin with a double drive Ashford wheel. I can't quite figure it out. I think it would be similiar to a "walking wheel" or it could be used as a ball winder. Good Luck!!
Love your spinning wheel.
I have a table top spinning wheel also. The "wheels" on mine don't have spokes...are solid. There are 2 main wheels and an additional wheel that turns a spindle. Mine also has a handle to turn it with and does not have a drawer like yours does. I have no idea about the dates of yours or mine. Have you learned anything else about yours since you submitted your show and tell post?
