When I saw this beautiful Crystal EAGLE Head at a flea market last week, I thought of the Lalique Car Hood Ornament that one of our members uploaded a few months ago. This particular piece is signed J.G.DURAND underneath and is probably a paperweight. The quality of the crystal is breathtaking.
The DURAND family have been the owners of the Cristalleries D'Arques since the early 1900's and Jacques G. Durand passed away in 1997. The company is one of the largest Glassmakers in the world and since the year 2000 is known as ARC International.
I'm not sure when this EAGLE head was made but probably before the death of J.G. Durand. It measures 3" tall by 3 1/4" long by 2 1/4" thick.
