This is a wonderful LOETZ Bowl (Claimed the Dealer) on sale at an Outdoor Antique Show near Kingston, Ontario, today....for your perusal. He was asking $350.00......pricey but probably worth it. Let me know your opinions. I have not researched it. RER (BOB)

Hey Bob, not Loetz - this one has made the round at the shows. Rindskopf is the maker.

I should have included this line was produced around 1900-1905. It was one of Rindskopf’s more popular lines. Rindskopf did two similar decors, one Grenada and the other Pepita The distinction is that the upper colour in Pepita more Orange than Burgundy.

Wow Mac63! You read my mind....I was hoping you would look at this. The dealer who you probably know very well, insisted on Loetz but it was quite similar, in color and shape at least, to the Rindskopf bowl I uploaded a month ago. Thanks for your expertise, BOB

That is often the problem I find with our local shows and I am sure others as well. Dealers know nothing about glass and because they think Loetz is the darling of all glass they stick a Loetz label on it, thus perpetuating the misinformation about glass that was made in the Bohemian region. Stepping off my soap box now :)

I know what you mean when someone refuses to believe the facts in front of them. I have tried a few times to convince this party that this piece is not Loetz.

Yes, definitely Rindskopf. I don't know why a dealer would stick with Loetz, especially since that would actually make it worth $350! :-)

dassullywon! In my heading, I said "I didn't buy it" not because I didn't believe the dealer selling it but because it was way over my budget. I'm still a learner and $350.00 sounded reasonable whether Loetz or something else. I understand that Loetz collectors would only want nice LOETZ pieces . RER(BOB)
Thank you for the Love everyone.

At least it doesn't have "LCT" etched into the bottom!

I thought it was against CW rules to show pieces for sale and prices ?
    13. LOUMANAL LOUMANAL, 11 years ago
It is if they are yours! This is to show our members what is out there and what they are asking without naming the source. How many times have CW members referred us to active online eBay or other sites to assist in identifying our collections. There is a difference. RER (BOB)
