Here's one of today's finds from GW. This great 11" brown and white drip glaze bottle/vase. It has an interesting impressed seal mark on the bottom. I'll have to run it by my Asian art forum friends and see what they come up with. Updates to follow! -Mike-

Note: It appears that this is a piece of Chinese Shiwan Pottery.

What a coincidence ! If nldionne bought one it must be good. We might kill two birds with one stone here. The pictures posted to the Asian Art forum today. I'm hoping Bill who ID my bowl will see it and know what it is. Some one should know but it might take a couple days. :)

Yes is Shiwan pottery from China. Must be a couple of them, see done pieces for thousands. Too bad not ours.

I don't know ours have a completely different mark in the seal maybe they're the better pieces. The one on Ebay looks kind of cheesey and cheap to me....lol

The seals are actually the artist's signature. So both our pieces were made by the same person. Now I have to find out what it translates to. :)

LOL, finally found some pottery today. Few McCoys. Also have one not sure what it is. Reminds me of McCoy but entire bottom is glazed, doesn't have outside ring like most pieces, I'll post and let you take a look. Has that heavy McCoy feel and matte glaze.

What do you think the odds are of both of us finding same artist with me at bottom of state and you at top?

      I would say 100% ....lol

I didn't find anything today ;( I'm thinking of running over to Oberlin's GW that always my last ditch effort.
