    I came across this interesting piece in my travels today. It is all carved wood, looks like Black Forest work but I have never seen any with a carving of a person and the shield below. I am hoping someone knows more. Thanks.

      My best guess is that this is a portrait of Brahms the much loved German Composer. I hope this helps a little in your search.
