I eyed this really beautiful 1950s teak gentleman's dresser for a couple of months before I bought it because it wasn't cheap. I told myself if I went back again to the vintage shop which was located in the boonies AND the dresser was still there, then it was a sign. And so I got my sign. The interesting story the vintage shop owner told me about this dresser was it belonged to an old Indian-Singaporean (an Andre somebody or other) barrister who trained in England, his old silks and suits were still inside the dresser with his papers when this came into their possession. I love that story.
All my friends don't believe me when I tell them I've got all my clothes in that. What? That is impossible. Well, I am so not a girl like way, anyway I quote some expert who said that we wear 10% of our clothes 90% of the time. So why not just house that 10% together and forget the other 90%? BTW my husband has a MUCH bigger wardrobe than I do. :)
Thanks DrFluffy and mikelv85.
