My father knew Foxx and Sarah personally when they lived in West Columbia, South Carolina. When Sarah had difficulty obtaining clay near the Catawba River because of a dispute with a neighboring land owner, my father took them to our family land in Fairfield County in search of clay. While the search was fruitless, ties of friendship were formed between Foxx, Sara, and my father. I have six of Sara's pieces and 6 of other artists. I found these all wrapped up in a spare room closet. All are in pristine condition.

Here is the mystery – a person on Ebay messaged me and said no pieces by ‘Sara’ Ayers are signed ‘Sarah’ with an ‘h’. Well, I have them here and I know these pieces came from Sara and Foxx Ayers. D_ _ N! I trudged along as we walked through our woods looking for mud – (which I thought was stupid as a wee lad). Can someone help me work through this conundrum?

Hello! I hope you see this as it has been a year since this has been posted. I am Sara's great granddaughter, Alissa. You most likely do have a piece of her pottery. She would sometimes sign her pottery with an 'h' at the end. I have some myself with an 'h' and some without. Hopefully this is seen and helps!
