I needed a splash of red to offset the greens, blues, and golds. Nice shape with good color. Gold enamel decoration on the neck.

Liked it enough to bid on it !
The main attraction was the floral elements on the neck which bear some resemblance to those on the Blue Octopus on Craig's site and to those on the Brown Octopus piece which recently sold at JdJ ... Both of which I also missed ... And both of which carry the spiral gold inlay ...
      Darn it ... :-)
