I have an old, I believe antique, rocking chair that I have been unable to find any information on or find a similar picture of. The back of the chair is made to curve around the person a bit. It looks to be made of a veneer or at least thin pieces of wood. Attached to the top of that veneer is some carved pieces that appear to be something like a lion head on either side of the top of the back of the chair. The arms are screwed to the back of the chair but I don't see any screws for the legs, they appear to just be glued. I attached a board to the chair for a seat bottom and made a cushion for it to make it usable. The chair originally had ropes that made up the support for the seat of the chair and it also looks like it might have had some upholstery on a portion of the back. I have no idea what the original seat looked like as it was not with the chair when I found it. I have not seen any kind of marking on the chair that might help determine it's origin. I found the chair in an attic of the garage of a home I had purchased. I'm just curious if anyone could give me any idea of what style chair it is, what time period or era it might be from or where I could search for more information on it. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time!
