Almost had to battle a seasoned jewelry collector at our local thrift store today. She was armed with a jewelers eye glass and didn't appreciate me invading her territory. So while she was busy really eyeing things over I hurried and grabbed items that caught my eye. She even had the nerve to sort through my pile and give me a dirty look. Enough complaining and I'll try to describe what I found. This is a fairly large pendant that's enameled on both sides with the side two squares allowing light to shine through. It's not marked but really reminds me of Lanvin or Givenchy enamel. Any thoughts guys?
GORGEOUS... I love everything about it.
Thank you Nadia and Sean:)
I thought Givenchy too! Kick her ass! I always have dealers and others trying to hog the looking...I just go uber polite with my "excuse me" and the odd elbow!
It just all comes down to treating people decently. I hope all her well studied items turn out to be crap.
Simply beautiful!!!
Thank you bratjdd,amberose,and lee:)
If someone invaded my space and started grabbing things from under my nose while I was looking, that person would get more than just a dirty look from me.
I do the same thing! I usually pluck out everything good and decent before snoody pants gets a close up of two pieces. I smile when they start to talk about the old picking days, ignore, then I leave.
It was a fairly large case with trays in it, I stayed on my side and gave her space. The dirty looks started as soon as I walked over and she's the one who came over and started looking through the pile I had picked out.
You may want to "edit" your original post then, because it sounds like you were the one being rude and invasive.
I'll rephrase that. She didn't appreciate me invading any of her territory.
