I love this gorgeous Marcel Boucher dragon pin but I'd like to know more about it. The only Boucher dragon pins I've seen anywhere online have enamelling over the scales and are silvertone, so I've wondered if this is a variation or fake. My pin does have some more rhinestones than the enamelled pins and is goldtone with silverplated highlights with pave clear rhinestones on the front. I don't see any signs of enamel loss or other damage.
The pin is about 3 3/4" x 2 3/4" and has the Marcel Boucher MB cap mark on the back. It does show normal light wear, so it's not a brand new reproduction or fake. I just don't know what to think! Anyone seen one like this or know anything about it?

Hi There, We have sold this particular pin with the enamel on it, in our experience we have seen many of the variations of the 1941 enameled series also done without the enameling. One sure way to know if it is a true MB Marcel Boucher is this... Look at the pin back, the rolling c-catch should roll towards the opening where the pin comes out of the catch before it will actually come out. If the rolling mechanism rolls away from the pin opening before the pin will come out of the catch, it is an authentic Marcel Boucher (unless of course the pin back was replaced). Looking at this pin from your pictures. In my opinion it is definitely a Original piece and not a reproduction. It is not as valuable as if it were enameled, yet non-the-less it is still a more desirable piece than your everyday basic pieces. Hopes this helps. Thanks George .....
OK Correction.... I confused myself. LOL The rolling pin part should roll towards the opening and then the pin will come out of the catch. That is a true Boucher.
