Vintage Kenneth Jay Lane Huge Byzantine Earrings

These Kenneth Jay Lane earrings are fabulous! They are large and obvious, but have fine details so it does not look too gaudy. Instead of using rhinestones, the designer cleverly utilized pearls and cabochons for a very different, but still glamorous look. The gold tone is matte to give the earrings a rusty look, like an old relic or treasure dug out from royal ruins. The pretty lapis lazuli and jadeite cabochons are flawed, giving the earrings a very raw feel to them. Signed "K.J.L." on the clips, a very rare piece of fine costume jewelry!
