Unusual pair of tinted Sarony Cabinet Cards

Here is an example of a pair of images that show something that I have not encountered before.

The two cabinet cards were made from the same image-- one in portrait and the other in landscape. Both examples are also very well tinted, presenting a full color image.

The images were done by Sarony of NYC-- a studio known for photographing the famous as well as NY socialites of the era.

The images date from the 1890s and the exact location (most likely upstate NY) and subjects remain unknown to me.

There is a possibility that these were display pieces or proofs-- neither image has a negative # or name on the back.
