    Can anyone tell me about this painting? I picked it up at a garage sale a couple of years ago. I can not make out the signature in the lower left hand corner. There is no date and no information on the back of the painting. The canvas measures about 19 by 23 inches. The frame is 22 by 26 inches and looks like it has a gold painted plaster mold over a simple wood frame It looks very old as it is dirty and in rough shape.

      This is a painting by Scottish artist Davis Gauld (1865-1936) .
      You did good. He is a valueble artist.
