This clock that has recently come into my collection is all original. The label on the back states "Buttergum .. 1 day .. ???? Manufactured by The E. N. Welch Manufacturing Co. -- Forrestville, Conn. USA". The clock is 18 in. tall and 10 in. wide. It strikes on the hour and also comes with an alarm feature. Runs great, keeps perfect time. I am very curious as to how old this clock might be .... I haven't been brave enough to take the back off as it is attached with nails !! Any information available would be very appreciated. It's a beautiful OLD clock. Thanks .....
I don't have Welch reference materials but my guess would be around 1890 give or take 10 years. Welch was the precursor to Sessions.

Regarding the back of the clock, do not remove it. Movements in these types of cases are normally accessed through the front of the clock by carefully removing the hands and unscrewing the dial cover plate.
Nice clock. Thanks for sharing.
I appreciate your answer and advice, it was a big Help...
thanks very much...Ardith
