ATTWOOD
(155 items)
These bits and pieces form the history of this man away at war. They belong to a friend who was throwing it all out until I came along and said NOOOOOOO.That is your family history.I found it fascinating. I am not sure what we will do to preserve them but they were found in a very rusty tin my husband and I were helping her clean out the garage.I said NOTHING is to be thrown out before I look at it.Imagine how excited we were to piece it all together.
This 23 year old man came home from war injured in battle in september 1916.
He was paralysed and it seems to be my friends father's uncle.
His postcards were from France and next pics are from Egypt
A diary ,a bullet a bible a photo and embroided memorabilia
I will be storing these a bit better than how I found them
I hope they last another 99 years.
Next year 1914 marks the anniversary of beginning of WW1
more to come Phil.....
Just wonderful ATTWOOD. I look forward to see what you create with this amazing set of objects. Timing is everything. They were found at the right moment. You will be the one to preserve them.
Yes.I can already picture the montage
Good for you! I'm riveted! Thanks!
Size would make me believe that this one is a pillow case.
