The details are rich in color and contrasts. The outer kimono has flowers that resemble Pinks, relatives of the Carnations and related plants. This could either be a relfection of plants brought over from China or other parts of interior Asia, or Japan has it's own species of the Pinks and Carnation family. The Chrysanthemum however, is another flower that is popular as a kimono motif. However, these days, it is difficult to find it in a doll scale....
On a side note, that bright orange obi with the beige/gold daisy design of the under kimono is a eye opener. Still undecided as to whether I really like it or not, however, it gets an A for effort....
