Hello,
Our 12 year old grandson loves history, especially WWII history. He collects medals and other items. My husband and I just found this and are thrilled, what a great place for him to store his collection.
Logan is coming to visit us this weekend and our project will be to clean it up, reglue some wallpaper, etc. It appears the lock has been taken out, but the trunk looks so perfect we can't figure out how this was done, or how to get a new one in, we don't want to damage it. Has anyone on this forum had any experience replacing a lock? I notice replacement locks can be purchased on line.
Can anyone tell me what branch of the military this could have been? The last date on the shipping label was 1949.
Any advise/information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Have you found a lock cylinder for this foot locker? I also have a Belber military trunk that is missing the lock cylinder.
Sorry, I cannot recall the name of the place but I googled truck locks and came up with it. The problem was even though it fit the diameter of the hole perfectly, it was too thick.... something I hadn't even considered. So we just left the original pieces in and it does not lock. Good Luck.
