Picked these up at flea markets was wondering if any one has any info about these? The two on the left are Davos. The 1st one on the left has Davos Germina. It is 36 inches long and 8.5 inches high. The smaller is just Davos. It is 29.5 long and is 9.5 high. The large sled on the right is 4ft long and 10 inches high. Was wondering if anyone has any info on it. Has Marke Arthur Muller with two little dots above the u on the under side of the front part of sled. It is all wooden except metal runners on the bottom. As you can see beautiful workmanship. Someone has inscribed HAASE FRI.4 on it also. It is an awesome sled if anyone knows any info about this I would really appreciate any info from you. Or if you know a website or someone I can get hold of to find out more info on the sled. It was an awesome find. I love all them but the bigger sled is my favorite. Thanks
Your best information will come from emailing them directly. I am not sure if they have public archives online but last I knew they are still in business. The sleds are common enough so Googling it should provide a wealth of information. We don't use sleds here in Florida but they sure sell good.
Thanks for the comment. I have looked up the Davos. (the smaller ones.) Can't seem to find any information on the larger one. The name on it is Marke Arthur Muller. With 2 dots above the u in Muller. Have searched that name and nothing in sleds comes up. But it is a really cool old sled.
Hello Cathy,
Bought antique wooden ski's yesterday with "Marke Arthur Müller" stamped on them.
I did some investigating on them and found that they come from "Fahrzeug und Sportgerätefabrik Arthur Müller". The translation for this is "Factory for vehicles and sport equipment Arthur Müller".
Factory was founded in 1853 in a town called Sayda in the Erz Mountains in Germany close to Leipzig and Dresden. The factory was closed in 1990.
Hope this gives you some background.
