It has no markings and I was told it belonged to my great-grandmoher. I think the top might be silver but I'm not sure. Any idea what it is?

Sugar? What size is it?
scott
Victorian era art glass base with silver plate handles and top.

Well, it's sitting on a coaster in the pictures. I hope that gives you a little more info on the size.
Most likely a sugar-- if standard 3- 4" coaster. Can you measure it or put something next to it for comparison?
Measuring from handle to handle and with the lid on it measures 6 1/2 inches wide and 5 1/2 inches tall.
That sounds about right-- I'll stick with the sugar.

Thanks. :-)
