I bought this bracelet on a flea market earlier this year. Its a really cool retro bracelet that dates from around 1945-1955.
I really love its bold design. You can clearly see the design was based on the caterpillar-bands from the tanks they used in the second world war. Another cool thing about it is its gold filled with a really nice shade of rose gold. In the post war era all sorts of colored gold where popular. I have heard one jewelry company had about 26 different shades of gold, and green gold was amongst them! How cool is that? I would love to find green gold...
The clasp is totally integrated in the design, I love that too! So sophisticated.
The bracelet has some wear and tear but I still love it.
My boyfriend doesn't. He cant understand why I bought this 'grandma bracelet'.
Well I just have a soft spot for all things deco, modernist and retro.
I hope you like it.
Nice bracelet, I like it. the Victorian erea used also differet shades gold also gree.
I think especially Belgium had and have a lot of beautiful so-called retro jewelry!
Bedankt voor je antwoordje Marga,
I didn't know they used green gold in the victorian era. Sounds great!
Thanks Agram, Sarahoff, Moonstonelover, Sean,DrFluffy and vetraio50 for loving my bracelet
I think I have a matching necklace and it's marked Swiss on the clasp.
valentino, you are right. Its timeless because they still use this kind of shapes. Still I like how you can just see that retro-style dripping from it! I love typical designs. Looking forward to see your tailored jewelry!
Thanks davyd for your comment. I never thought about it being Swiss, I always assumed it was made in my country.
