Many thanks for the info. Fascinating to see what you can glean from a hallmark. You would wonder to whom it belonged and how it ended up in a charity shop in Dublin Ireland.. JohnG

I managed to take a photo of the hallmark. As you can see, SJ is the main initials and there are three below. The first depicts a horse the second a bear ? and the third the letter F. I also loaded...
Ktratango.. Many thanks for the link.. Very Interesting and all new to me. I'll take another photo of the hallmark and post again... It might shed some light on the time-line..
