Hi!
My name is Florence, but my friends seem to like the name "Flo", so I just roll with it. :)

My name is Florence, but my friends seem to like the name "Flo", so I just roll with it. :)
I have always felt like I was born in the wrong time period. When I was just a little girl of maybe 10 years old, I would sneak out of my bedroom, pull a chair up to the TV as close as I could get it, and I'd ever so quietly watch old black and white movies.
Some of my favorite leading ladies were Bette Davis, Marilyn Monroe, Carole Lombard, Jane Russell, Ginger Rogers, Myrna Loy, Mary Astor, Olivia De Havilland, Bette Grable, Barbara Stanwyck and oh so many others.
Bette Davis must have been my favorite, because it was always while trying to sneak in one of her movies, well past my bedtime, that I'd get caught and have to go to bed and wonder how the movie ended.
I loved the Hollywood glamour and the way those women commanded a room.
I've just always loved all things old, for as long as I can remember.
When a loved one passes away, and I get asked if I'd like something to remember them by, I usually choose a well loved and favorite piece of cookware.
I love the history in antique and vintage items.
I've been given costume jewelry over the years from family members and such, and I'd pick up pieces here and there that I thought would go great with a certain outfit. It wasn't until recently that I started falling in love with early Trifari and a few other vintage costume jewelers.
I'm no expert and I'm only beginning to learn about these great companies that have given so much joy through the years, with their shimmering, sparkling, and whimsical creations.
I'm trying to find out everything I can about the earliest Trifari pieces. It started with a necklace marked KTF. I've searched the world wide web and I have YET to find the piece that I own that I am just dying to find out more info on it. While doing my research though, I've learned so much about these beautiful pieces, and I am now HOOKED on vintage and antique jewelry.
So here I am! Loving this site and the many many lovers, like me, of all things shiny and old. :) (Read more)
