    Hello Again,
I've been having trouble with the computer so haven't been able to post anything for a week or so,.....didn't really have anything to post, but was anxious that I couldn't!:) Anyway I was busy at work and cat-sitting for a friend,......( Coco, a Calico,....I'll post her photo )
I did buy a couple of things over the past couple of weeks.
This print caught my attention, high on the wall where it was hanging,( at the Salvation Army ).
I love the print, a wonderful image of the beloved parakeet!( we always had birds around the house growing up ).
This is a joyful piece, nicely printed, and signed in pencil, lower right.

I'm posting it firstly to bring you all a bit of happiness, but would love to know more about the print if someone has something to share about it.

    Happy week-end to all,
    T.

Yup, thems keets for sure. I suspect this was probably done by a home artist who happened to be a bird lover. I love birds and still have seven of them chattering at me as I type this. I am also fond of wood working which brings me back to this page. What little I can see of the frame looks like someone modified wood from different frames to fit the sketch. I love the image but think it was home grown. I can't read the signature but the picture speaks for itself and I love it. Although I don't own any parakeets.

We call 'em 'Budgerigars"' or ' Budgies'!
      Melopsitticus undulatus.
They were first recorded here in Oz in 1805.
      They became hot export items.

The budgies we have here are smaller than a parakeet and cute as all get out. I would love to have a couple of them but that might cause my wife to be a little upset. She seems to think we have enough birds. The picture would really attract a bird lover. Anything to do with birds brings in a nice profit if offered in the right place. A bird lover doesn't look at the money as much as the enjoyment. That is why I am poor.
