Last week at a garage sale, I bought this working, circa 1928 electric sewing machine manufactured by White for only $30! It is in the Cast in Decoration Variation style (meaning the design is carved in rather than painted on; decals caused glares while people sewed) with a black krinkle finish. Incredibly, ALL of the original parts- instructions, bobbins, feet, string, needles made by White, a tin container with hemmers, a binder, braider, ruffler, tucker, and edge stitcher, and, as bonuses, needles made by House Hold and Boye, a medicinal dropper by Glasco, and a newspaper article about the machine from 1950- are present.
very beautiful darling!!!
Thank you, Sean!!
your welcome Nicole!!!!!!!!!!
The original thigh master. My grandmother had one. Great memories.
Niclole : Very nice find . I have one in a cabinet like yours only mine has the machine with the gold decals and my cabinet needs work . The door on the front of mine will not stay shut and the wood that holds one of the hinge pins is broken . I also paid $30.00 . I think you got a better deal . Good work .
Cool someone else with a White.
fortapache : I have at least three of them . One was the very first machine I ever bought for myself with my first job out of high school . It is a treadle White . I even made my wedding dress on it before I got married . I love that machine .
