A month ago I posted some photos of my Novelty SMOKER ASHTRAY Collection and I had no intention of buying more. Today I went to a local flea Market and was all excited to find what I thought was an unusual Smoker Ashtray. When I examined it, the seller stated that he had thrown the tongue away a few moments before I had arrived. After examining it closely, I realized that it was actually a Stamp Moistener so we both went looking for the "tongue" that he had thrown away behind his booth. We found it and I cleaned it up good to restore this Stamp Moistener to it's original Glory. It's a beautiful little mid-century or earlier Stamp Moistener that will get along very well with my novelty ashtray collection. It measures 5" by 3 1/2", has the numbers 3995 or j995 stamped on the back and is made of Porcelain.

I also have one almost identical! Have been trying to find more info about it... when you say mid century, do you think around 1950s or so? Do you have any idea of the value?
Yes, post WW2. Value is at least $20 Canadian since this is what I paid for it. You should upload it so that others can see it. Thanks for the comments. Bob
