I bought this tea caddy at an auction about 30 years ago. The measurements are 9 inches wide by 5 inches tall by 5 inches deep. I love the rounded top. The inside is very simple, and is missing the two interior lids.

I hate to admit it has ivory trim though. I am a huge elephant fan, but I have owned this before it became in questionable taste to own ivory. The decoration does not continue on the backside. It is just plain wood.

I may have this wrongly categorized, I could not really see where to post it.

I wonder if this is military campaign tea caddy? looking at it with it's simple design and the ivory decoration which could indicate India or Africa pre 1900 I would say that there is a good chance of it being Military campaign and if not a colonial piece.

Thanks for the input, Paper. I had never looked at this item in that way. Interesting idea.
