This is my pride and joy chair. I found it at the local landfill thrift store called Last Chance. A soon as I saw it I had to have it and find out more about it. This is actually one of two. The other has broken dowels in the back but is still in pretty good shape otherwise. I'm so proud that I paid $10. for it and 1st dibs has them there for $1300.
It was made in the 50's of teak and red wool but, the foam rubber cushion had hardened and turned to powder so I had to reupholster it. I would not say it is the most comfortable char to relax in but, I could see it as dining chair or side chair. I learned that the Sibast company is still around in Denmark and is reissuing these in oak.
I wonder if you have seen this Pinterest page?
