This is a nice addition to my collection of cups and saucers. I believe this pattern is called "Poppies" and it dates to the early part of the last century. There are also some numbers that could shine some light of the cup's origin. Once again, I am not familiar with English China but I liked the design and the quality of the cup and could resist getting it.
Thanks for looking:)
Thanks a lot, maryh1956, Moonstonelover21, and SEAN68:)
Although it does have beautiful poppies in the pattern, "Gloria" is the pattern name. It dates from the 1930's. Here's a link:http://www.royalalbertpatterns.com/a%20to%20z%20pages/rapgg.htm

Sorry, I messed up the first link, so you can't click on it.
Maryh1956, this is amazing!! Thanks so much for your kind help:)
Wouldn't it be lovely if we had a reference section here on CW? Then we could take this great website and have it available. Yes I could bookmark it, but I have a lot bookmarked..
Pretty cup Fahrenheit!
Fahrenheit is how your name got auto corrected!
AmberRose.... I was thinking exactly that... I think that would be awesome if CW had a filing of all the on line reference sites. It's hard managing them in personal favorites.
AmberRose, you made me laugh! It's my fault, I should have chosen an easier name! Thanks for looking and loving it:)
AmberRose and DrFluffy, I agree with you. A reference section would be great. It's sometimes time-consuming and frustrating for me to find out about a piece. I am not part of the computer savvy generation and finding information in one place would be great!
Hey y'all:
Just wanted to pop in and say that we DO have a reference section on CW, customized for each our different categories!
If you click on the Royal Albert category button up above, it will take you to that category page. Then scroll down and look under the "Interviews & Articles" section you'll see the "Best of the Web." We are always adding more of these when we come across them, but you can email ones you want added to support@collectorsweekly.com and we will be happy to review them.
I'll look over the link posted above and see if we can make it into a Best of the Web "Hall of Fame." :) Let me know if you have other questions!
Thanks for sharing the info Hunter
Thanks, Hunter. I will check it out:)
