Pair of Smoked Glass End Tables. Any guess on the age of them??

This pair of tables are a mystery to me. I am puzzled by what the age may be, or who is the maker. They are 27 1/2 inches across and 18 inches high. I would guess they are from the early 70's, maybe? I have shown them to an acquaintance who deals extensively in retro furniture, and did not have a clue about them. I almost wonder if these were custom made. I bought these at a thrift store last year.

I read recently that smoked glass was going to be trendy again. We'll see if that happens.
