Found this clock at a local 'upscale' thrift shop. It wasn't running, and it needed a new glass. The clock consists of an oak board with gilt bronze or spelter trim. It was designed by "Susse Freres" as indicated on the dial. Susse Freres is apparently a foundry company, and has been in business since the early 1800's. They made all sorts of castings for the clock and furniture industries, as well as castings for many sculptors. The dial is really tiny at about 2 1/4". The movement is really small as well, as you can see in the picture. The detail in the cast piece is excellent. The wood panel measures about 6" by 12 1/2"
Super nice
