This clock was given to me, un loved and not running, both of which I changed. It was made in Russia (USSR) by Majak, and is 8 day, and has a nice platform type escapement. The faceted piece surrounding the dial is a large piece of glass. The base is Bakelite. I recently saw the movie "Unknown" with Liam Neeson and in the office of the old detective is one of these. You have to look carefully because it is shown quickly on a sideboard with some old photos. The clock actually shows up in 2 different scenes.

Since I found this clock, I have found several others, and they are quite common in Europe. They seemed to come with a couple of different dial colors, red and black, and sometimes they did not have the "Made in Russia" on them. My sister liked mine so much, she bought one!
