This amazing candlestick belongs, of course, to Carlos' Art Nouveau collection (although I wouldn't mind to own it myself ;) ).
It is made in cast and wrought brass. The base shows the stylized shape of three water lily leaves from where the stems depart, joining at the top where each stem bifurcates to form a calyx containing the candle holder. The tops of the stems are riveted to the candle holder.
Richard Muller worked as an architect and designer in Dresden. from 1899 he designed a wide range of candlesticks and lamps for the lighting and metalwork firm K. M. Seifert. He also made designs for glass, porcelain and furniture.
The Seifert factory also executed the designs of a number of other artists, including Riemerschmid and Bruno Paul, although at the time they tended to praise the work of Müller above that of the others.
On the fourth picture you can see both the Riemerschmid and the Müller candlesticks.
