I already posted a vase
http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/92539-big-vase-of-unknown-designer?in=user
by the same designer, some months ago, but I didn't know his name, and nobody could help me. From time to time you can see his signature on Tradera, rather rarely to be true, but he seems to be unknown to most of the traders, too. Until I found someone who presented the above vase as an item by "A.L. Gimantas Zilys". Now I had only to google this strange name and found out who he was: Algimantas Žilys, probably one of the the most famous (and one of the rare) glass artists of Lithuania who worked very much in the bohemian glass art tradition and did some beautiful pieces. He lived from 1936 to 2009 and graduated from Kaunas Art School, State Art Institute (now Vilnius Academy of Fine Arts). He is presented on a page about applied arts in Lithuania:

Here you can see some of his designs. To be true, I am not always a fan of the Bohemian postwar tradition which often seems to arty and overexpressive to me, but some pieces are stunning and worthy to be compared to some designers from Bohemia, Murano or Sweden. You can imagine that I count my pieces among them!
There is another page about him which explains his studio art glass techniques:

My blue vase with white filaments stands 25 cm high an weighs 1800 g.
This is so nice. At some point looks very Finnish. Your other Žilys has a more personal style. Anyway, I love both of them! (wouldn't mind to have some in my collection, haha)
Dear Austro, yes, I think the clear glass vase is more original. I have seen more of these blue vases, but always in different shapes. Nothing industrial! Thank you all for your Loves.
Stunning!!!!

it might be the same designer?
I just commented. We had the same Idea.
you mean a therapy??
Thanks so much for information about this wonderfull vase. I found one yesterday on the fleamarket. Just amazing.
It's been some time but I've been doing some research lately on Algimantas Aleksandras Zilys that might be of interest. Both of your pieces seem to relate to a period when Zilys was working at the Vilniaus stiklo fabrikas from a period 1990–96. You can see V. S. and a date above the signature in both cases. I believe it stands for Vilniaus Stiklo. Later pieces are seen with his signature but without the V. S.. More common these days is an etched stylised version of A. Zilys.
