This is a 9-1/2 inch Loetz vase with a fanciful version of the PG 1/215 decor on a Russisch (Russian) green Prod #904 form. The colors are outstanding, but unfortunately my camera did not capture its dazzling iridescence. (2012)

This piece is unreal. Never seen the likes of this.

Outstanding? Where did you find the reference to PG 1/215? I have never seen this genre before, but it does have elements of 2/351 Argus and 3/460. This is an amazing vase.

What are you talking about? I think that shot does a great job.

For an example of a PG 1/215 see Hatje Kantz color plate #74. In the PG decors 2/351 and 3/460 the parallel threading is wrapped around the piece with a machine and the spacing is very uniform, whereas in the PG 1/215 the threads are thicker and are wrapped somewhat haphazardly by hand and crisscross one another. Also in the 2/351 and 3/460 the decoration stops partway down the body of the vase, whereas in the 1/215 the decor covers the entire piece, except of course for the variation seen on this one.
For another photo of a piece with similar strong color (and similar threading), see Cantz photo B 140 on page 307.

      Psychedelic ! ... could have been considered dangerous back in the 60's / 70's ... (20th Century Reference rather than 19th) :-)

      SteveS -
That hadn't occurred to me but I agree.............It reminds me of a poster for a rock concert.
