There is no information on this mirror....looks like there was a crown ornament of some sort that was removed at some point. Pretty clean silver.

    45x35 inches - wood frame

Just trying to understand the time period and possible value. Does anyone out there know?

The time frame is difficult with the pictures and only pictures of the front. The value of a damaged item or item with missing parts is probably the enjoyment you get from owning it.

Agree with fhrjr-- a photo of the back would be helpful.

From what I can see, it doesn't appear to have a great deal of age.

I was able to take a few images of the back of this mirror....I've been told maybe neo-classical? 20s? 30s?

Pity they have removed the original wooden backing covered in paper. What is left of the paper on the sides is an indication of possible age. This could actually be as early as 1820 right up to 1920. with out more details it is hard to say. I used to buy, restore and sell mirrors mostly of French origin. It is certainly unusual and would have instant appeal with those border glass mirrors usually found on continental mirrors. Do you have any history for it? where did it come from? and are the acanthus leaf scrolls on the top just Compo ( a type of plaster) or are they gessoed wood?
