Recently purchased this at a local antique mall.
Want to know some history about it, hopefully an age as well as an estimate of its worth.
I know Yellow Stop Signs were between 1924-1954 but would like better understanding.
On lower right side it says "Company MPLS". I believe it is porcelain has thick metal backing, sign weighs 16 lbs. Has 47 original clear "cat eye" marbles for reflection. Original yellow paint. Not sure about the damage spots. its not rust, paint just isnt there anymore. Two mounting holes on the bottom, one on top. Anyone that has information, would love to hear it.

What a great find! What you've got here is stop sign that was mounted on a railroad crossing signal. Made by the Griswold Company in Minneapolis, probably in the 30's or 40's. The Griswold crossing signal was unique because as a train approached, or if the power failed, the stop sign would rotate towards traffic. Once the train passed, the sign would rotate 90 degrees back and traffic could proceed. I'm guessing the paint chips are because it's a porcelain finish. Let me know if you if it's ever for sale. Very neat.
