I found a set of six cups and saucers, made in Austria. I believe they are souvenir cups, possibly vintage, but I have not found much information on the cups. They are all in pretty good shape; no chips or cracks just a bit of wear on some of the gold. The cups show three different historical landmarks (two of each image). The mark on the back reads: Made in Austria, Qualitatserzeugnis, EIGL. The quality of the porcelain is not bad, but I have seen better decorations.

    Thanks for looking:)

Aldo78, you found a very similar one! Cool! The porcelain mark is the same, for sure. I kept searching for the manufacturer and couldn't come up with anything. Maybe it was only a small factory?
      Anyway, thanks for your link:)

Eigl was a Little factory in Austria Linz-Ottensheim an later in Tyrol. The son of the founder and owner is a friend of me.

Cool!! Thanks, Sterndi. I wasn't able to find anything on it. The only thing I found on line was a few cups and saucers without any information. But I must admit I am not very good in researching anything:(
Do you know if this factory is still in business?
    10. Sterndi Sterndi, 11 years ago
The factory was founded by Mr. Eigl about 1965 in Linz/Ottensheim and he prodeced coffee and tea-cups, flower vases, ashtrays and other souveniers in porcelain with Pictures of towns and citys. My mother collected this Cups and we brought them for her from Schooltrips etc.
The dishwashers were the End of the factory. The production of this Cups in Asia was much cheaper an EIGL had to close his factory about 1985 - 1990

My mother now is 80 years old and most of her Cups have been broken by the time. She gave her last 6 Cups to me ten years ago and i promised her to add her eigl-collection. Today I have 122 Cups with the golden ribbon, but not your 6 Cups and saucers from Linz. Do you sell them? It would be a great pleasure for me, if you could send 3, or all 6 to me, "home to Austria" ;o)

Sterndi, thanks so much for your insight into the Eigl history. It is so sad to hear the same stories again and again. I collect vintage and antique items because, among other reasons, I value the way they were made, and I avoid modern, mass-produced wherever and whenever I can.

      woher kommt dein perfektes Deutsch?

So viele traurige Geschichten!
