This is an original stone lithograph from my private collection of Magic posters. This stunning lithograph titled, "Le Legendaire Professeur Benevol" is a portrait of "Benevol", the Magician who's signature illusion was a medieval beheading (See his Beheading poster in my collection here)
This uncommon poster measures approximately 24" x 34" and is in "A" condition! ca. 1920 What I love about this portrait are the GREEN imps and demons, which are usually red in color on most other Magic posters from the Golden Age. The colors on this poster are INCREDIBLE and simply a breathtaking use of greens and blacks!
Luigi Maria Benevolo (Benevol) joined his family's show, in his teens, as an acrobat and musician. He was Italian by birth, but was billed as a Mexican magician while performing in France up until his death in 1939. he was 73 years old.
stunning poster:) beautiful art work:) !!
Thanks buddy! Much appreciated and I agree.
