I received this medal with a lot from japan. The person that I bought it from said that he was not sure if this one is Japanese. I have researched, searching endlessly only to come up empty. I assume that it is a Red Cross medal, but there are none like it. Please help me if you have any information about this one.

Thank you! I will do a refined search for Italian medals and hope for the best.

Based on the two coats of arms: Switzerland and Geneva I would say this is a shooting medal from the Swiss city of Geneva, probably from a maritime shooting association based on the shores of lake Geneva.

It doesn't appear to be a cross to me. It a ships anchor. Very similar to the United States Navy insignia.

Thank you so much for your support, my search of Italian medals came up empty. The cross I am referring to is the one at the left of the anchor. Militarist; you blow me away with your knowledge. I have a new reference point to continue my search.

Militarist; I did see that you are correct, but did not find this medal. No other Swiss medal showed an anchor. I can't understand why a shooting medal from Geneva would include an anchor. Thanks again!

Geneva is a city on a large lake that forms part of the Swiss border. So the anchor would not be a stretch of the imagination when used to hold the two coats of arms.
