This is from my Grandma and I have had it for many years but just re-found it in an old trunk. I would love to know the maker or where it might be from. The glass is not delicate, weight is 2 1/2 # and is 14" tall. The stripes at the bottom of the skirt are very clear. There is "gold flex" in her hair, the book and around her neck. Anyhow, lovely piece and would love some I.D. as to who made it and when. Can anyone at least give me some research ideas? I would love to know who may have made this and when, approx. She's beautiful. I wonder if she could be Murano? There are quite some on CW who have good knowledge of Murano. Unfortunately, I am not one of them. Merry Christmas!!!

Hi, Sioux! I don't see any breaks - perhaps she didn't come with wings. I shouldn't think it's very easy to remove glass wings without leaving a trace. Unless there's evidence of a removal, I wouldn't assume that there has been one. She is very nice!

Oh, Spam. Hmmm - I don't know about 'Midwest thing'. My Dad was a WWII veteran, and he considered it emergency rations. It's supposed to have a very long shelf life. I don't eat it now, as the meat is taken from animals who live on inhumane factory farms. If the pigs had decent lives, I would buy it for the 'inclement weather' pantry and I might indulge in it every now and then. It can be made to taste good. Hope your husband enjoys it - or saves it for the next ice storm. : )
SPAM, still a yuck. I raise all our own food, kindly and healthfully. I even do my own butchering and give thanks when I do butcher. I just wrote an e-mail to my 104 year old Uncle who will most likely write me back in the morning if not driving to my cousins and family for brunch. I miss being with them all but living in the country is where I belong. I lived in the country even when I lived in the city, grew all my own vegetables and flowers. Ah, am sounding old and am not, just a mere 72! Think will get back to good book and have a glass of wine with pup, Lilly Rose. Blessing , Siouix
