I am fascinated with mythological imagery. I do not own the Persian, English or Greek pieces but wish I did. They inspire my thoughts and transform my creations. I create male harpies as well and welcome the fantastic quality. The gallery view depicts my large harpy amphora.
From wiki a harpy is...
In Greek mythology, a harpy was one of the winged spirits best known for constantly stealing all food from Phineus. The literal meaning of the word seems to be "that which snatches" as it comes from the Greek word harpazein, which means "to snatch". A harpy was the mother of the horses of Achilles sired by the West Wind Zephyros
