One of many different brands of seed cleaning machines. They were used on the farm to clean oats, wheat, alfalfa, soybean, etc seed before planting. (Don't let Monsanto catch you using one on "Roundup Ready" soybeans)
There are a lot of them around yet, but not being used anymore much. I kind of restored this one and show it at antique tractor/gas engine shows. I clean some oats from the threshing machine and get a lot of attention from the younger folks. I usually run it with a 32 volt electric motor or a gas engine.

Thanks for sharing with us I am originaly from Saginaw,Michigan.
I don't have any photos to share with you but I believe the Ferrell factory was located on Hess and Sheridan in Saginaw, later to become Heinz Pickle Plant..
Saginaw has a great museum perhaps they can give you more info on your item.Call or e/mail Castle Museum Saginaw Michigan 989-752-2861.If you call ask for Herm Rindhage he knows more about Saginaw than most of the historians and he is even older than me.

We decided to pull ours out of the haymow for a friend to use to clean a small amount of wheat. After cleaning it we found the paint is faded but we noticed ours says "The House of Gurney, Yankton, SD"on the clean grain bin. It does have the Clipper logo up by the air discharge. It looks identical. Did different companies assemble them and/or market them regionally?

i'm looking for some kind of seed cleaner to use on california native wildflowers. there's just so many different kinds and sizes of seed, that figuring out the best kind to use for the majority of seedheads is what i'm trying to do.
