Since I chose a detail of this pot as my "picture & name", I will make it my first posted item. This small bowl (4"H by 5"W) was a collaborative effort of the husband & wife team of Auguste Claude Heiligenstein and his wife Odette Chattrousse Heiligenstein. It is obviously French and dates to the 1920's (I think).
Auguste Heiligenstein trained in glass and enamel and at one time worked for Marcel Goupy. All items coming out of Goupy’s studio were signed by Goupy; he refused to allow Heiligenstein to exhibit his own work under his own name. When Heiligenstein was introduced to a ceramic artist named Odette Chattrousse, she invited him to work in her studio. Within a few years, the two married. (taken from "Credit Where Credit's Due")
FYI: My real name isn't Violet - I'm a guy - and, yes, I know those are grapes not oranges.
