This is a silver and rose cut diamond pendant I found together with the victorian gold brooch and the two bar brooches.
So, you can guess, I paid 1 euro for it, again.
If you ask me, this was the best find of that day.
I wish I had this kind of luck with more important things in life instead of with something irrelevant as finding jewelry.
Its silver and rose cut diamonds. At some point in time it was fixed on the back and you can see they fixed it with 18 carat gold.
i m sure Agram m knows more about this sort of jewelry, she posted a similar pendant a while ago. She had the excellent idea of putting a claps on the pendant. That way she can wear it on a pearl necklace. I will do that too.
I hope she or someone else can tell me something more about this pendant.

Indeed you had your lucky day congratulations, a wonderful Victorian pendant and probably Dutch with rose cut diamonds. In that time was diamond cutting, as we know it today, not yet discovered. In order to properly showcase the brilliance of diamonds they were placed on foil. By candlelight, used at that time, they shine fantastic.
Also, the combination of silver setting was used with a gold back in order to prevent stains to release (as often occurs in silver) on clothing or skin.
Silver and the sparkle of diamonds is a wonderful match hence this combination.
It is indeed very easy to put on a bail so that the pendant can be hung on a “bead” necklace for example a pearl necklace. Such kind of bail you can see on the pendant at the left site: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/73797-victorian-rose-gold-silver-pendants-and?in=collection-1745
      Indeed a beautiful pendant !

Marga, today I discovered it was originally part of an earring! I saw a pair of earrings with a 'drop' which looked exactly like this one. Unfortunatly they were a bit expensive for me. But now I m sure this 'pendant' was part of an earring.
      Have a good weekend!

Newtimes thanks for your information. Perhaps when I move to you in Belgium we can change the pendant in earrings and take turns wearing them. Have a good weekend!!

Agram you're so funny! I had to laugh so much when I read your comment. You reminded me of an arrangement my mother once had with her family. My mother would swap clothes, shoes, household items, jewelry and even bathing suits with her own mother and with her three sisters! When they got each other a birthdaypresent they could be sure one day they would swap the gift for something else.
