Little Gold Leafed Pottery Owl, Mid Century?~Terrific design,..Maker?

Hello,
Another recent purchase, found at the GW.
It's got an interesting shape made even more interesting by being gold leafed.
I feel as though I should know the maker, it seems such a familiar shape to me. Hopefully someone here can tell me something about it.
