Just like it happened to bohemianglassandmore with his amazing Colchicum vase, Jitka Lnenickova’s book has been of huge help to identify this Hofstötter unusual vase.
The shape was designed by him for the Paris international Exhibition in 1900. In 1911 he returned to the very same shape to apply a very different decoration on it, which is strongly inspired by the sea landscapes, using "laminaria" algae that also appear on the Phaenomen decorations he used in Paris, although using a completely different style.
In our vase both the algae decoration and the signature show a tarnished silver finish and show a slight relief.
According to the paper patterns that have lasted to our days (pic 4/1), only two vases with this shape and dekor were made. One of them for the Ludwig Fränkel firm in Berlin, and another one that was comissioned by the Österreichisches Museum für Kunst und Industrie in Vienna... what's now known as the MAK! Although as far as we know this vase isn't catalogued in the MAK Loetz collection.
We are also sharing an image of the vase that the seller used to sell it (pic 4/5). As you can see it is so difficut to recognize even as a Loetz vase!
We just got it this morning and we want to introduce it here at CW as we're very excited about it.
By the way, it is bloody difficult to take decent pictures of this vase!
I hope anyone has more information about this vase, we'll be delighted to hear your opinions about it!

We might have solved the mystery about our vase :)
Reading the Hatjie Cantz book "Loetz, Boheman glass 1880-1940", on page 88, we've found two pics of prod. no. 356/new 7925 vases. Reading about the second one, Flamarion gray and pink, we read: "Another version of the vase based on Franz Hofstötter's design with a later decorative type. Hofstötter also created a vase described as gray with flamed pink for the Ausstellung Österreichischer Kunstbewerbe at the Österreischisches Museum fur Kunst und Industrie at Vienna in 1911-1912, see the list of the exhibits in the cat. of ÖMKI, 1911-12, No. 1218. According to the repertory of 1910, fol. 184 (district archives of Klatovy, Fond Klásterský Mlýn), THE VASE PROD. No. 7925 WAS DELIVERED FOR THE EXHIBITION EXECUTED IN DARK BLUE GLASS WITH THE ETCHED FLOWER DECORATION No. 385."
So... if they considered our algae as flower decoration... chances are this vase they talk about is ours, that wasn't commissioned for the Museum's collections but for the Austrian Exhibition of Arts and Crafts it held in 1911-1912.

Thanks bohemainglassandmore! As amazing as your Colchinum! What I like the best from this vase is how simple it is: just cobalt and dark silver, and a very simple decoration with those algae.

...been trying to understand the decor. Is it silver overlay or a silver layer of cameo cut glass? ...any iridescence?..super cool!
No silver overlay. It looks like a very slim silver glass layer over the cobalt blue glass with a cameo treatment.
The blue glass has a glatt finishing and in the inside is a normally glossy glass.
...just too cool. Congratulations on a great find. Gotta love those bad listing photos!

Thanks Amber! Yes, very well! Working at a Tourism Information Office is more stressing that one might think. By the way, yesterday I had my first visit alone -me leading a group of 28 tourists. I loved it!!! Today I had a small group just for myself : )
IMPORTANT!!! I have changed pictures 1 and 3 so you can appreciate this vase much better. On pic 3 you can appreciate the cameo effect as the silver glass layer has a slight relieg over the glatt blue background. On pic 1, you can see the silver effect much clearer.

Incredible! Congrats!! I have seen a similar pattern is iridescent but the cutback is unique... my favorite part is the signature- sideways!!!
