Vega Co mandolin

I found this mandolin in a pile of junk in my attic that I imagine has been up there for years. My mom used to play when I was a kid and hers and so on. It says on the inside Vega Co from Massachusetts. Don't know much else about it other than that. Have any of you seen one before? Looks like mahogany, rosewood and mother of pearl inlay. A piece of the MOP is gone from it.
