So this is the start of the clothing I found in the old steamer trunks, listed under the furniture category. Here's a little description: L-R Blue wool officer's jacket with gold eagle buttons (there is a matching jacket with tarnished silver eagle buttons as well), Green wool officer's jacket with belt & gold buttons, Blue wool short officer's jacket (also matching in green), Bomber? style jacket (the gentleman who owned these was a navigator in the air force, from the books & maps I found included in the trunks). Would like to know more about which outfits were worn for what function, rank, etc.

I must say, I was astonished at how heavy these wool pieces are! There is also a full length blue wool overcoat with silver buttons in lovely condition that I am hoping to clean and possibly use, but just transporting it from room to room is quite the workout. I also had trouble lifting the coats once on hangers, so no wonder those trunks were so ridiculously heavy!

I am not an expert on US uniforms but I will have a go!
L to R. The first jacket looks like an airline pilot/officer from NWA (possibly Northwest Airlines?). I have no idea of age but perhaps 1950s?
The second jacket is a US Army Officer's jacket (it should have a label somewhere inside - maybe in a pocket lining), for an Officer of the 7th Army. The bars on the left sleeve are overseas bars and denote 3 years service. I would WW2 but I could be wrong.
The third is some kind of Ike or M1944 type jacket. Are there epaulettes? Also check for a makers label or QM label.

Perhaps the Officer joined the NWA after his military service?
